Think about this. You are where you are at this moment because of an accumulation of all the decisions you have made in your entire life.
If you are an adult, you are in the city you are in because you decided to come to this city. You are in the building you are in because you decided to enter it. You are in the room where you are because you decided to come here.
If you are standing this is because you've decided to stand. Do you get my drift?
.Any voluntary thing we do requires us to make a decision first. Anywhere along this line of decisions, a different decision would have changed your path. Your life might have gone in a completely different direction. L Let's examine the decision-making process. Suppose you're going to church on Sunday and you are the first one to arrive for the service. All the pews in the church are empty. You can choose where you can sit. Where will you decide to sit? Will you sit in the first row, or the last row, or somewhere in between? Will it be on the left side or will it be on the right side? When you finally do sit down, it will be in the place where you find yourself to be the most psychologically comfortable. Stop and think about this for a moment. So now we have arrived at the idea of psychological comfort. And this also leads us to the concept of psychological discomfort. Have you ever thought of psychological comfort before? Have you ever thought of this before in connection with decision-making? Probably not. Nevertheless, I hope you can see that psychological comfort is an important consideration in the decision-making process. Our psychological comfort or discomfort can sometimes lead us to delay a decision. Psychological comfort or discomfort can sometimes lead us to make bad decisions. Have you ever heard of the idea that in order for a person to make a big career advance he has to "step outside his comfort zone"? My purpose here is not necessarily to give you answers but to give you questions to stimulate your thinking and make you a better decision-maker. This is part 1 of my essay on decisions. Part 2 is titled: "Making Decisions". To go directly to Part 2 click here. Tom Plonski Le invito a leer las otras pбginas de mis Ensayos de la Felicidad.
